Usually, Rachel drove while I would sit passenger and control the two M's maps and music. We choose that the passenger always has control while the driver's primary focus should always be the road to stay safe. She knew that even though there was no physical destination, it was the journey that mattered.
Loud banging through the speakers playing the songs melody's and signing words to forget the worries of present troubles. Singing words from songs that mean the most without even realizing that all the words were already known by heart—zipping through the windy road that curves every three seconds. Rachel always says that having the top down, especially on the jeep, always brings more relief and happiness when trying to settle down the mind. One of Rachel's favorite parts was feeling the wind rush in front of her face and through her silky beach blond hair. She loved the feeling of being free, even if it was for only a few hours.
During the drive, Rachel turned down the music and said, "Hey Chick! Around a year ago, I was in California with Sarah, and while going for a drive, the stars were as clear as adding one plus one. As I looked up at them starring, I noticed I had all these thoughts in my head, but no words would come out. I was too mesmerized by the stars; basically, I was starstruck. It was almost like even though situations were not going the way I wanted, I knew it would all be okay and work out when I looked at the stars." I was always in awe of her stories; she always knew how to speak with the right tone while keeping the listener's interest. She then began to say, "I always knew I am meant for more than what I am doing right now, and when life is not showing me that, I look to the stars for extra guidance while simultaneously smiling."
Going for drives is almost a slight release to the daily restraints brought upon the mind. Even though Rachel lives a hectic life juggling between finding a job after graduating, family and friend situations, and more, she finds comfort in knowing that she genuinely is meant for more and constantly is reminded that when she goes on drives.
