The Fierce Followers of Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan is a newer manga/anime that has caught the eye of many anime fans as well as non-anime viewers! Attack on Titan is a show that tells a fiction story based on three children who grow up in a world where there are humanoid human eating creatures. Attack on Titan dropped its first manga chapter September 9, 2009 and with the power of popularity from their fans were able to release the manga April 7th, 2013. I know that may not sound newer but to anime fans, it is pretty fresh compared to Naruto (1999) or even One Piece (1997). With Anime culture's there is always an interesting fandom following behind them.

With any anime fan the anime alone is never enough especially for the show Attack on Titan. After attempting to digest an episode that is action packed and full of information the first thing an Attack on Titan fan can do is watch episode debriefs. Foxen Anime is a well-known YouTube channel that focuses on Attack on Titan and will post videos of episode breakdowns, Titan information, character information and anything Attack on Titan related, they are fanatics to say the least. When the Manga of Attack on Titan concluded they even thanked Hajime Isyama (the writer) and the anime itself because it brought a lot of traction to their YouTube channel. What fans love about these episode
debriefs is that they can actively discuss what is going on in the episodes with each other. The YouTube comment section of videos related is where most fans spend their time. Below is an episode debriefing from Season 2 of the show be careful of spoilers once you click on the video!

Below shows Foxen Anime asking fans how they feel and here are some responses.

Attack on Titan is a very information packed anime so fans love to discuss what they missed or what they could not necessarily understand BUT! AOT fans are also some trouble makers. Like any other show fans are all on different pages on where they stand while they watch. Some AOT fans are quick to read the manga while others do not read but only partake in watching the show. Other fans wait until the show or season is completed to watch but AOT fans are pretty brutal to others who did not watch as soon as the chapter or episode is aired. Below shows you the response to the bad behavior of angry fans and spoilers on a reddit page dedicated to fans of AOT. It is so bad to the point where there is a bot who has to warn others to not spoil or they will be removed from the website. (MHA stands for My Hero Academia another anime show.)

On the brighter side AOT fans are here for fanart! Fans love to illustrate and focus on the different characters of the show and they enjoy recreating them in a way how they see these characters or how they wanted to see things play out. If you google Attack on Titan fanart there would certainly be a bottomless pit of creations with each character of the show. A common thing in these recolored depictions is that the art style is close in similarity to the art style of the show. On the left are some examples of fanart that are personally my favorite because they highlight significance from the show. These were taken from a website called the art studio where fans post their work.

For a fierce fanbase like Attack on Titan there are always critiques on how the show could've gone and like every great thing there's always an ending. Endings are always hard for fans and this fandom had  a lot to say about the ending of AOT. Without spoiling the ending of the show the fans were extremely emotional about how things went to the point where they rewrote the ending. Yes, you read that correctly they rewrote the ending of the show because they were so upset at how it ended. The rewrite ending made a lot of fans happy because they had some critiques that were "corrected" in this rewrite. You can access this rewrite by just simply searching Attack on Titan alternate ending and it will pop right up if not you can access the alternate ending fan rewrite below.

With the Attack on Titan franchise coming to an end the AOT fanbase will live on with the show heavy on their hearts but thankful to the creators for their hard work and dedication to writing a show that meant the world to them. Like Eren Yeager (the main character) said "If you lose, you die. If you don't fight, you can't win! So Fight!"
