My forever confidant
A girl meets her soulmate in the most random places yet non never thinks it's possible to find theirs so young. I always thought my whole life that my soulmate would be a boy yet I was dead wrong. I met my best friend Lily not too long ago at commons and it didn't seem like we would ever be friends we were too stubborn. Reluctantly we both gave each other a chance and realized we had much more in common than we thought. I will never forget the surprised looks we have when we bring up another thing we have the same interest in.
It was a Sunday afternoon in Bloomsburg, PA a month into meeting her. As Lily pulled up wearing a disheveled black and white sweatshirt. This had been her favorite sweatshirt. Her eyes were droopy as dark eyes circled were formed underneath. Her hair was brushed although strands were spewed against her face. I could tell that her sleep patterns were off again but I could also feel the excitement she had as she smiled with glee at me. Although you could hear the tiredness in her voice she had said " Ready to get Mac and Cheese" as she was shaking her fists with glee. I smiled back as I was excited but I was also hesitant as I wasn't in the greatest mood since the night before I argued with my roommate. She could smell the anxiousness on me as I continued to talk to her.
"How was your night?" she exclaimed.
" Not the best she decided to gaslight me" I proclaimed with anger. My face progressively turning beat red.
She looked at me and said, " You are stronger than what anyone says to you".
Those words surprised me as she is not someone who usually uses inspirational quotes rather she would use sarcastic comments. She was serious though no hesitation. Somehow it gave me a feeling inside I always and she continue that was almost like the feeling of courage. I looked at her as to say thank you as she looked back and just smiled.

" Here's the sausage mac and cheese", we both acknowledged.
We gulped as the sausage was curled along the noodles as a baby hamster, as I was gagging we both looked straight at the camera
" I rate this a 5/10"
You could see the pure happiness in our faces as it seemed like nothing else in the world mattered as we continued reviewing each sample with grossed-out faces depending on what the noodles were mixed with. Looking back at this moment it showed me that she was always look out for my best interest and always allowed me to live in the moment.

As I was slouched on the bed one night she looked over at me and brought up a serious topic. This wasn't odd to happen that at the random time she would bring u something we both weren't ready t talk about Her eyes began to swell up with tears going down her face. As she glanced at me, she saw I was tearing up also. We gulped as we began to talk about the topic. It was almost as a dark cloud formed above us. She wiped her hand against her face as I continued to let all my feelings out. She hugged me and began to understand that this was something that hurt me so much. I knew that she felt my pain as we never hug each other unless we are saying goodbye. She had gestured at the door as to say its time to take a break.
“ Okay we can go", I gulped.
We began to go on a drive with only the 80s hits playing with the sunroof allowing air to calm us down. It felt so refreshing and just being able to take in all the stars allowed the moment to be so much better. I looked over at her normally being able to see the pain in her eyes and now seeing a look of happiness. Being able to have someone to talk to about anything allowed both of our barriers of trust to come down and open up more.
This event allowed me to see a side of her that you can't find much in others. She allows other's feelings to be displayed and solved before her own. She had shown me that night a side of her I've never seen before and allowed me to understand how her thought process is at any given time. She is much more than these two instances yet these are instances that show her in her most influential moments.

I would put "Pennsylvania" after Bloomsburg and maybe describe the weather or amount of sunlight a bit more. I'd also say "wearing a disheveled blue and white sweatshirt" instead of "wearing her blue and white sweatshirt disheveled." I'd also spend more time describing lily, her height, hair color, facial features and things like that.
ReplyDeletei'd also add some dialogue and conversations in. i'd like to hear the actual things that lily said to make you laugh and what you said in reply
